Consequences for breaking rules:
First you will be given reminder of the rule and a warning.
Next you will be given a consequence. I have given examples of consequences below. However, I may choose a different consequence based on the situation.
Finally, if you continue to break the rule, you will be assigned and after school detention and I will call home.
RULES
ASK if you need to borrow or use something in the classroom. Otherwise, do not touch items that do not belong to you.
CLEAN UP after yourself. Check the floor around your desk before leaving. Straighten desks out before leaving. Throw your own trash away.
ARRIVE PREPARED with your textbook, binder, paper and a pen or pencil.
STAY FOCUSED and ON TASK during class, even during transitions.
ELECTRONICS (i.e. cell phones, MP3 players, iPods, etc.) must be OFF AND AWAY during class.
WATER is the ONLY thing that you are allowed to consume during class (i.e. no food or other beverages).
POLICIES
HOMEWORK is DUE at the beginning of every class the day after it is assigned and is a 0/5 unless it is 100% complete.
LATE ASSIGNMENTS are accepted, but you lose 1 letter grade for every class period that it is late.
ASK IN FRENCH if you need to get water or go to the bathroom.
SPEAK ONLY FRENCH during speaking activities.
LA PAUSE is a break time you get during every block period and can be taken away if rules are broken.
Procedures
Starting Class
When you arrive in class, go directly to your seat and pass your homework to the front of your row for a stamp.
Get right to work on the warm up activity that is on your desk.
Work silently on your warm up activity. Use your book and your notes if you get stuck.
Correct your warm up with the key provided and put it in a safe place - you will need to turn it in later in the quarter.
Correcting Homework
Usually you will go over your homework, reading answers out loud, with your speaking partner.
I will also provide an answer key and it is your responsibility to correct your work by circling or underlining mistakes and writing the correction next to them (uncorrected homework is automatically a 6/10).
Ask questions!
When you are absent . . .
It is your responsibility to find out what you miss when you are absent.
You can talk to me before class starts, at break time or after class ends.
Any worksheets or handouts you missed will be in your classes “missing work” folder with your name on it. Please only take the paper that has your name on it.
You have ONE week to make up any tests/quizzes you have missed and it is your responsibility to make an appointment to do so.
Ending Class
I dismiss you from class, not the bell.
I will give you a warning before the end of class, which means that it is time to check your area for any trash, put away any books/materials you have out, put away your belongings.
Stay seated until I give you the signal to leave or to get up from your seats.
